A tribute of patriotism, remembrance, and community.
Hosted by the Exchange Club of Daniel Island, the Daniel Island Field of Honor transforms River Landing Park into a striking display of 1,000 American flags from June 13 through July 5, 2026. Set along the waterfront on Daniel Island, the installation honors the people who, through their lives, service, sacrifice, and example, have added honor to the Stars and Stripes.
Each flag represents a personal hero and helps create a moving public tribute that invites visitors to reflect on freedom, service, and community. Flags may be dedicated in honor of veterans, active-duty military, family members, teachers, cancer survivors, and other personal heroes.
The event has grown into one of Daniel Island’s most meaningful annual traditions, beginning in 2016 with 250 flags and expanding over the years to reach 1,000 flags by 2023. Proceeds support local veterans and community organizations, including Friends of Fisher House Charleston.
Honor the heroes in your life.
Flag dedications are available through the Healing Field program. Each dedication places a flag in honor of a veteran, active-duty service member, family member, or personal hero you choose to recognize.
Along the waterfront at River Landing Park.
River Landing Park sits along the waterfront on Daniel Island, providing an open, accessible setting for this community tribute. The park’s open grounds make it an ideal backdrop for the full display of 1,000 flags, and the waterfront setting gives the installation a sense of scale and reflection.
The Field of Honor is free and open to the public throughout the display period. Visitors are welcome to walk among the flags at any time from June 13 through July 5.
