On August 9, the 2025 Fisher House Freedom Ride brought together motorcycle riders, volunteers, sponsors, and law enforcement partners at Over the Horizon Brewing for a day in support of veteran families staying at the Charleston Fisher House. Hosted in partnership with Over the Horizon Brewing and Low Country Harley-Davidson, the event drew a broad community of people committed to the mission.

The Freedom Ride is more than a motorcycle event. It’s a visible show of support for families who travel to Charleston while a loved one receives care at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center. Through events like this, Friends of Fisher House Charleston is able to help provide meals, comfort items, household needs, transportation assistance, and other resources that make the Fisher House feel more like home.

This year’s ride was made possible by a strong network of local sponsors and partners, including Advanced Operations Partners, DJJ, ADC Engineering, Longevity, B.H.S. LLC, CASS, Janssen HVAC, and DisasterCare, alongside law enforcement partners who helped keep riders safe on the route. Every registration, sponsorship, and volunteer hour went directly toward ensuring veteran families don’t carry that burden alone.

Planning is already underway for the 2026 Fisher House Freedom Ride. We look forward to building on this year’s momentum and welcoming even more riders, partners, and supporters next year.
