The Fisher House Freedom Ride is back for its second year. On Saturday, August 29, riders will gather at Low Country Harley-Davidson on Dorchester Road in North Charleston — registration opens at 10:00 AM, and kickstands go up at noon.

From there, the ride winds through Daniel Island and Mount Pleasant and back over the Ravenel Bridge, fully escorted by motor officers from Summerville PD, Mount Pleasant PD, the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, and Charleston PD. It’s $20 per rider and $5 per passenger, with day-of registration onsite.

The route ends at 181 Over the Horizon Brewing, a veteran-owned brewery on Heriot Street, where the after-party runs from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Can’t make the ride? Non-riders are welcome to join the celebration at the brewery.

Every mile supports the Charleston Fisher House, which gives veteran families a free place to stay while a loved one receives care at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center.
